Congratulations James Burns!

Congratulations to James Burns on his recent promotion to Safety Instructor at the Columbus Terminal!  James has been a driver on our Tyson Account in Robards, KY.  James will be relocating to Columbus where he will assist in onboarding new driving employees on a weekly basis!  This is a great example of an employee who has advanced his career through hard work and dedication!

Congrats once again James!

Taking Safety to the Next Level in Morehead!

Recently, our Management Team at Family Dollar in Morehead KY secured a flatscreen television where they post safety messages throughout the day.  This television is located where our drivers pick up their paperwork.  Here they post a wide range of safety topics that keeps our fleet up to speed on what is going on at the account.  The effort our team is putting in is definitely paying off.  The account is currently on a 60 day injury free streak.  Their commitment to our safety culture and continued focus on Driver Dedicated is going a long way towards improving the operation.

Going, Going, Back, Back to Cali, Cali

This week, our DCS Team who handles Toyota made the trip to California for our Annual Account Assessment.  These meetings took place at Toyota's North American Headquarters in Torrance, CA.  Here we reviewed our prior years performance as well as discussed the future of the Owensboro, KY and Hebron, KY fleets.  We have enjoyed an outstanding partnership with this client and we look forward to more great years ahead!

Cookout at Family Dollar Ashley IN

This past week, our customer Family Dollar held a cookout to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication over the last few months.  This year has brought many challenges to the fleet in Ashley.  This includes a new Management and Driving Team to support startup of this business.  In addition, the team has battled one of the worst winters in IN in the last 20 years.  It is great to know we have clients that truly value the hardwork our teams put in to service them.  Thank you Family Dollar.

JB Hunt renews partnership with Intigral for another 5 years!

JB Hunt DCS recently renewed its partnership with Intigral by renewing its Agreement for another 5 years.  Intigral is a full service fabricator of insulating glass units and monolithic glass products based out of Walton Hills, OH.  At this site we employ 18 drivers, with a combination of Class A and Class B licenses.  This site is managed by Rich Schwartz.  Rich played a key role in managing this business over the last 3 years.  Rich has been at the account since startup, and due to his hard work as well as that of our drivers we had the opportunity to renew with this customer.  In addition, great work by Adam Kleeh in assisting with the renewal.

Congratulations to Patrick "Gus" Weber on Winning Central Region March Driver of the Month

Congratulations to Patrick "Gus" Weber on winning the Central Region March Driver of the Month.  Gus has been with JB Hunt for over 3 years.  Prior to joining JB Hunt, Gus was a Private Fleet Driver for AGC Glass.  When JB Hunt was awarded the AGC Business over 3 years ago, Gus transitioned over.  Between driving for AGC and now driving for JB Hunt, Gus has over 20 years experience.

From AM John Schaar
Gus takes great pride in the quality of work he performs and especially his exceptional level of customer service. When Gus returns from his route he will have me check in the system for any special glass or rush orders his customers have told him about to ensure the customer's expectations are met by AGC. In addition to covering his normal route Gus is always willing to cover any extra work that is available.

Here are some additional items that put Gus "over the top" for Driver of the month:

MPG - 12 week average is 7.6 (Fleet's 12 week average was 7.18). This ranked Gus 3rd overall on the fleet for 12 week average.

RAIR - 0 RAIR points for the entire month of March

Congratulations Gus!!

Safety being a top priority, we have to find fun and exciting ways to keep that always on the drivers' minds.

During the month of February, drivers at the Toys R Us account in Youngstown had the opportunity to participate in weekly Safety games to earn points. Weekly games consisted of Crossword puzzle, Word Jumble and a Safety quiz all pertaining to SAFETY. Out of the 21, six are walking away with a J.B. Hunt coffee mug for receiving perfect scores.

Recruiting Trip to Youngstown State

On April 3, Region HR Manager Megan Brandon along with Brian Tabor and Final Mile OM Greg Goodrum hit the road and attended a career fair at Youngstown State University.  Here we were looking to continue to add to our DMIT bench.  Though there was no sign of Maurice Clarrett or Jim Tressel, there was still a good turnout.  We will be looking to make a return trip here in the future where we will be doing a presentation to the Business School promoting our company.

Driver Dedicated by Tim Wilhelm!

Robert Wilson (wlrf1) has not seen his mom in over 4years. Tim Wilhelm, Account Manager for Aurora Parts, arranged for Bobby to take a load down through the Carolina's where Bobby's mother lives. They were able to have dinner together and make up for some lost time.  This is a fantastic example of what Driver Dedicated is.  We are glad Bobby got to reunite with his mother after so many years!  Great work Tim!
