Rhonda Thacker (Account Manager for Family Dollar - Morehead) recently rode with Rob Hines. Here is what she learned:
Rob was a proud member of the Unites States Army from Aug.
1984 – May 1988.
He has 2 grown
children, Robert Jacob Hines and Christina Marie Hines. Rob is a proud man and
has a great work ethic. His passion is his job and how well he can perform. Rob
has talked jokingly about retiring but decided now wasn’t the time because he
just had a major life event this year with the purchase of a new home!
Rob’s
career with JB Hunt began in March of 2010. Since he has been with us he is one
of our more tenured drivers and is one of our Senior Trainers on the
account. Early in his career with JB
Hunt he had an accident, which was eventually overturned, but it made him a
better driver. He is more cautious because of it. Instead of it thinking of it
in a negative light he used it as a learning tool. Since then, he has done
nothing but excel!
When you talk to Rob
you will find that he loves to help people. When a trainee passes his training
class, you know he has been thoroughly trained and well equipped to handle any
issue that he might face on this account. He also continues to mentor these new
drivers after they complete their training. Rob is what you think of when you think about
what you want in a professional driver. He has caused no service failures this
year, he has 100% Compliance and his 12 week MPG is 6.54. He has excellent customer service skills and
works great with store employees. He leads by example when it comes to safety
as well.
He is on the forefront of driver safety for this account. He is in
constant communication with management over safety issues, such as the way
trailers are loaded and has taken and sent hundreds of pictures of unsafe
conditions. Not only does he report safety issues but he has also been very
helpful with offering ideas to help find solutions to these issues.
Rob is one of those drivers that actually
takes ownership in this account and wants everybody on this account to succeed
and with that he holds every driver up to the standard that is required for us
to be highly successful.
