Lena Howard (Logistics Coordinator) rode with Mark Vazquez recently. Here is what she learned:
Mark is
married and has 3 children and lives in Columbus, OH. He has
custody of his two younger children and an older child that visits in the
summer months from out of state. He is a
huge Iowa fan and lived there for many years.
His wife is currently doing internship in criminal justice.
While
working for Werner Transportation, Mark was referred to JBH by Josh Davis
(DAVJ0) in Columbus. Mark would see
Josh at various shippers and Josh was always telling Mark what a great Company
JBH was and that the pay was great.
Mark was a yard spotter for several years and forklift operator for 14
years prior to Werner.
His passion
is driving a semi and loves being behind the wheel. When asked what he likes best about JBH –
He said he likes the people in the office and looks forward to the quarterly
and monthly safety training. He said
“being a new Driver, he learns something new that he did not learn during his
training at Werner”. When asked to give
an example of something new learned, he said “he enjoyed learning how long it
takes for his unit to cross an intersection”.
He also said he wife engages in the safety training with him and is
learning a lot as well. He said, she has
gotten to the point that when they travel together, she points out things she
sees other drivers doing wrong, that she has learned from the safety training she views with him. Something they can
share together.
