Most people probably remember where they were on September 11, 2001. For me, I was an Account Manager working up in Michigan. I was less then a year on the job, and I remember every minute of it. I remember it was a Tuesday, because all this was going on and I was fighting to get my payroll in by the 11am cutoff time. I kept going from the tv in the break room back to the office to get updates. I remember as our drivers came back during the day they would all sit around the tv to watch the development. I also remember my three night drivers that night not wanting to come into work due to fear of further events. My last memory was the next day one of our drivers came back from his first run and had two American Flag flapping in the wind off of the smoke stacks of his truck. I'm not sure how legal this was, but it showed the renewed patriotism that was going on at the time. He rode with those flags on his truck for the better part of a year.
Today marks the 14th year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Almost 3,000 people lost their lives that day. Thank you to all of our police, fire, and rescue personnel. In addition, thank you to all current and prior service men and women. This country would not be what it is without you!
