This past week was the DCS Sales Meeting. This was a three day event that was a review of the success in 2018 and a look ahead to goals for 2019. The theme for the week was "Back to the Future" and included a visit from the one and only Marty McFly!
There were many great speakers in attendance, including Nick Hobbs, Brad Hicks, Brian Webb, and leadership from the recently acquired Cory Home Delivery. DCS had a record sales year in 2018, selling 1700 trucks. This includes not only Field Sales, Final Mile, and Client as well.
The common theme throughout the week was the need to continue to push Marketplace 360 throughout our customer base. There is tremendous growth opportunity through this platform and it is critical that as operators we become familiar with it so we can educate our customers on the best way to take advantage of it.
On Thursday Evening there was an awards ceremony where they recognized all of the Top Performers in 2018. Jim Krueger, Central Region BDE, took home the Top Gun Award, selling the most new business in DCS at north of $50MM.
On Friday, we took part in breakout sessions where our Client Team gave some best practice examples of what they do with their clients. Overall it was a fantastic week with some great takeaways!
