American Heart Association - Heart Walk in Akron

On Saturday September 10^th, Soft Lite and Central Farm & Garden associates had the pleasure to participate in the American Heart Association - Heart Walk in Akron. This walk was organized by Soft-Lite Operations Supervisor who is a huge supporter for the American Heart Association.

With 21 total walkers we were able to raise $500.00 for this great organization. Everyone had a great time enjoying some outdoor activities and educating themselves on ways to live a healthier life style!

Congratulations Kerry Crockett on his Retirement!

(Dan Schoonover, Kerry, Ed Butler)

Wednesday September 14, 2016 will be Kerry Crockett’s last day at JB Hunt after 30 years, 1 month and six days. As a Safety Coordinator, Kerry has seen and heard it all. Kerry reminisced on how he has been working since he was 12 years old and not a day went by that he did not work. Here at JB Hunt, he has been able to travel different places he has met some very nice people and enjoyed his time here with the company. April 2017, Kerry and his wife will be celebrating 47 years of marriage. Someone asked, “How have you managed to stay married so long?” Kerry replied, “I’m always gone.” His plans after retirement include staying busy through the winter by moving vehicles to dealerships. However, when the weather warms up he plans to keep gardening and looks forward to traveling the country with his wife. Everyone here at the Louisville terminal and everyone else who has met you through JB Hunt, sure will miss you. Congratulations on your Retirement.

Driver Appreciation at Toyota

Who doesn’t love coming to work on Monday morning with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, muffins, roasted potatoes and hash brown casserole? Team Toyota catered the “Zak I am Fried Eggs and...” meal from Wild Eggs on Monday, Day 1 of Driver Appreciation Week. Nothing better than a hot meal, breakfast at that, to kick start Team Toyotas celebration on driver appreciation week. Day 1, Team Toyota’s drivers took off with full bellies, a new hat and some goods to hit the road! Stay tuned to more food and gifts from Team Toyota.

Driver Appreciation at MasterBrand Cabinets

Team MasterBrand has kicked off its annual driver appreciation event!  The event will last Monday the 12^th through Sunday the 18th. This year’s event is being celebrated with a variety of contests, games, meals, and gifts for the drivers who make us successful.

Words cannot describe our appreciation for these men who spend weeks on end out on the road foregoing time with their family & friends, working odd and ever changing hours to make our delivery schedules, and maneuvering our equipment down the old roads of Boston, Baltimore, and New York. To further complicate their jobs, they spend large amounts of time with the customers off-loading cabinets. It is because of this that being a MasterBrand driver is one of our toughest driving jobs available which we try to honor and celebrate this month.

Drivers coming to the office this week will find themselves competing in “Bubble gum blowing” and a “Safety Quiz Raffle”.  They have the opportunity to win prizes such as the Amazon Fire Tablet, a Movie Night, and multiple truck cleaning kits.  Along with this all drivers are given customized Ozark cups, a LED MasterBrand Hat and some brand new uniform shirts that were badly needed. Lastly, while enjoying the competitions the grill is fired up for burgers, hotdogs and other delicious treats.  While the food is cooking the drivers get to show off their skills in the bean bag toss and a variety of board games.
