National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 11-17, 2016, is when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. These 3.5 million professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely and on time, they also keep our highways safe.

The Home Depot Account in Monroe, OH kicked off driver appreciation week by doing a Family Fun Day at a Park in the Cincinnati area.  The turnout, and the weather, was fantastic as over 100 drivers and their families attended.  Thank you to all that came out for the event!

Happy Anniversary Michael Jackson!

Congratulations to Michael Jackson on his 11th anniversary with JB Hunt.

Mike started his JB Hunt career with our PPG DCS fleet in Delaware, OH as an Operations Supervisor. When PPG moved to Pittsburgh, PA Mike was an extremely valiable asset to the region helping out at various FMS sites as well as Home Depot Van Buren, OH. From there, Mike found a home in Reynoldsburg, OH where he is our current Operations Supervisor for Limited Logistics.

Mike is a Army vet and has 3 children (Anthony, Demarcus and Mikey). In his spare time, you can find him in the gym working out or traveling. Another thing you can always count on from Mike is to be cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers!

Thank you Mike for 11great years of service.

Central Region August Driver of the Month - Al Skarya

Congratulations to Al Skarya for being selected as the Central Region Driver of the Month for August.  Al began his career with DCS on June 2, 1987!  Thus Al has been with Dedicated for 29 years.  During his tenure, Al has racked up over 3.8 Million Safe Miles!  Al currently serves on the Toyota Owensboro Account where he delivers recall frames throughout the US.  Congratulations Al!

Below is the write-up on Al:

Al deserves to be Driver of the Month because he is a loyal 30-year employee with JB HUNT and has

3,807,825 SAFE Miles

with NO CSA POINTS. As Al tells the team every week, "Miles give me smiles."

When it comes to fuel ... He has NEVER missed a Stop on the Toyota Account & has always been 100% compliant & it is because of the effortless time he takes to plan his route accordingly.

For the month of June, July & August... Al received ZERO log points.

Within the past 12 months, Al has NO MISSING LOGS and has NEVER had a LOG LETTER in the past 5 years here on the Toyota Owensboro account.

However, anything more than ZERO log points is too many for Al and would also be a surprise to not just him, but his management team as well.

Al has NEVER had a Headway Monitoring Event & is 200+ Days Critical Event Free!

Albert's career here at JB Hunt speaks for itself with his respected history in safety and performance. Al executes Customer Value Delivery by pursuing improvements for the customers, drivers and even manager’s responsibilities. When the Toyota Owensboro fleet purchased their new 50 Truck Mounted Forklifts, Al was the first to suggest counterweights on the trailers to make the ride a lot smoother going down on the road which saves money on equipment in the long run. Al wants to do business the right way and is grateful to be a part of "One of Americas Most Admired Companies."

Al loves to lighten the mood in the office by cracking his jokes, but he may make his self-laugh the most. Outside of work, he enjoys his toys. Al takes his Yamaha Royal Star 1300 CC out when the weather is nice and his baby, a 2010 Dodge Challenger, when it is not.

Al calls himself a “Golf Hack,” he loves to swing a club but can’t play. Outside of cooking stuffed shells, golfing and fishing, Al and his brother Dicky, who retired from JB Hunt after 25 years, enjoy going to the movies. Al has excellent taste in what a great movie is considering that his is Forrest Gump.

The best thing about Al is his love for his family. Every time he walks in and sees us in the office, there is always a new adorable picture of his 4-month old granddaughter Emberlyn. With 3 sons and 5 grand kids Al can’t wait to reach his 4 MILLION MILE AWARD so that he can spend his time with them.

Driver Dedicated - Intigral & Sanson

This week Intigral and Sanson Company are celebrating Driver Appreciation month in style.  On top of the account’s cookout for the fleet scheduled on 9/9, Account Manager,  Sam Marcotte wanted to do something special for his team.

As a result, he purchased lunch boxes, hats, flashlights and gave out hand written thank you letters to each driver.  Our customer at Intigral even donated water bottles to be given out to the driving team.

Excellent work showing our drivers how much they mean to us!
