Jance Miller (MILJ23) - Professional Driver - Toyota - Louisville

Jance came to JB Hunt and the Toyota fleet in August of 2015. He spent much of his 7 year driving career driving in a local position. This allowed Jance to spend time with family as well as pursue a career as a professional truck driver.

One of Jance’s goals was to always driver over the road instead of driving in a local position. Since joining JB Hunt and the Toyota account Jance was able to fulfill that goal of driving over the road.

Jance is a very family oriented man and enjoys spending time with his youngest son, who aspires to become a professional truck driver one day himself. Recently, Jance’s oldest daughter gave birth to his first grandchild.  

February Driver of the Month - Scott Gilbert

Congratulations to Thomas "Scott" Gilbert for winning the February 2016 Driver of the Month for the Central Region.  Scott has been with JB Hunt for over 5 years and is a current driver on our Home Depot Account in Van Buren, OH.  In addition to being a Driver Training, Scott consistently goes above and beyond.  Scott is one of the original drivers on the fleet and takes great pride on the success of the account.  Congratulations to Scott on this great achievement!

For the month of February, Home Depot-Van Buren selects Scott Gilbert as Driver of the Month. Scott has gone above and beyond this month in many ways. Scott helped in piloting the new DRIVE App’s latest updates. Scott drove a load of water to Flint Michigan. Scott has trained 2 new drivers to the account. Scott has had a great attitude, always asking for more work. Scott has been on the account and with JB Hunt for almost 5 years. Scott is a driver trainer and a real presence in the account.

Scott loves to stay up on the current happenings of the account. He feels at home and has been here since almost the start of the account. He has always been a dependable, safe driver but this past month he has really shined. Scott volunteered to pull a load of water to Flint to help with the water crisis on a Sunday. Scott went above and beyond to support this effort. Scott did not do this for the extra money but he wanted to help the cause and do a good deed for the community.

Scott has a great record with JB Hunt. He has almost half a million safe miles in his 5 years with JB Hunt.

Scott knows the account very well. He has seen it change and he is a great source of knowledge for other drivers. Scott is the master of the most difficult delivery, the East Liberty, PA Home Depot. Scott goes to this store regularly and has no issues making the tough backing move.

I would absolutely support Mr. Gilbert being driver of the month. Scott has been here for a few years now and has been a great partner to THD. He has helped out in many situations where we were in need, anything from emergency load support, yard support, spring surge trailer support in 2015, and most recently a charity event that we assisted a local school with. Scott has always been very energetic and eager to be a part of any situation where help is needed.

Promotion Announcement - Lena Howard - Southern States - Valdosta, GA

Please join me in congratulating Lena Howard on her promotion to Account Manager for Southern States in Valdosta, GA! Lena will be responsible for managing both the Bag and Bulk business for this location which consists of 12 drivers and 2 P&Ls.

 Lena began her J.B. Hunt career in December 2014 as an Operations Supervisor at The Home Depot Monroe, OH and most recently has served as a Logistics Coordinator at the account. Prior to joining J.B Hunt, Lena had 25+ years of transportation experience in both LTL and Truckload. In Lena's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and has a passion for golf.

Promotion Announcement - Mike Fogle - Account Manager - Southern States - Park City, KY

Please join me in congratulating Mike Fogle on his promotion to Account Manager for Southern States in Park City, KY! Mike will be responsible for managing the Block & Tub and the Bulk business for this location which consists of a total of 10 drivers and 2 P&Ls.

Mike is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and started with J.B Hunt as a DMIT in August 2015. Mike was promoted to Operations Supervisor the very next month and has excelled since taking on that role. He enjoys working out, running 5Ks, and is a diehard fan of the Louisville Cardinals.

Promotion Announcement - Mike McGuire - Account Manager- Southern States - Winchester, KY

Please join me in congratulating Mike McGuire on his promotion to Account Manager for Southern States in Winchester, KY! Mike will be responsible for managing both the Bag and Bulk business for this location which consists of a total of 13 drivers and 2 P&Ls.

Prior to joining J.B. Hunt, Mike was a 33 year employee at Southern States where he served a number of roles including professional driver and dispatcher. Mike joined J.B. Hunt as a professional driver when we started our first venture with Southern States in November 2009. A few years later, Mike transitioned into an Operations Supervisor role at Family Dollar in Morehead, KY. When we were awarded a portion of the Bag business at Southern States Winchester in 2014, Mike took on the Operations Supervisor role there and has been a fixture in Winchester ever since. In his spare time, Mike enjoys fishing, raising cattle, and spending time with his family.

Promotion Announcement - Nick Banister - Account Manager Southern States Flowery Branch, GA

Please join me in congratulating Nick Banister on his promotion to Account Manager for Southern States in Flowery Branch, GA! Nick will be responsible for managing both the Bag and Bulk business for this location which consists of a total of 8 drivers and 2 P&Ls.

                 

Nick is a graduate of Indiana University and started his career with J.B. Hunt as an Operations Supervisor at the Pet Supplies Plus account in May 2015. His excellent ability to learn quickly and work well with people will serve him well in his new role in the Agri world. Nick is a huge fan of the 2016 B1G Champion Indiana Hoosier basketball team and the Cincinnati Reds.
