Central Region Q1 Manager of the Quarter - Dale Hensley

Congratulations to Dale Hensley for being selected as Manager of the Quarter for the Central Region for Q1!  Dale is an Operations Supervisor at our Home Depot Account in Van Buren, OH.  Dale was hired by JB Hunt back in October of 2018.  During his short tenure with the company, Dale has shown a tremendous work ethic as well as an openness to do what is needed to get the job done at both his account and others.  Dale has shown flexibility and a willingness to help wherever needed which has not only helped the region, but helped his professional development.  Congratulations Dale!

From Day One, Dale has shown the desire to do BIG things.  He is never satisfied, always looking for more work, always looking for more ways help, and always looking for more ways to advance the account.  Dale has gone from a DMIT at the start of the year to Operations Supervisor and immediately became one of our Logistics Coordinator backups. Dale spent almost a month away from home helping the Amazon account out of Columbus during the holidays and did not think twice about taking the opportunity. Dale is the epitome of a team player.  He is always looking for better ways to do everything and has already made great improvements to the way that our yard drivers are managed.  Since learning the Logistics Coordinator position, he has taken over as the yard manager, owning scheduling and working side-by-side with the customer to make sure their needs are not only met, but exceeded.  Dale knows that this job is not static, and hours must be flexible to make sure that our drivers are shown that they are his first priority.  Dale is always staying past his scheduled hours to make sure he speaks with his day and night shift drivers.  It helps to ensure that he is getting everyone one the same page and letting them know that he is there for them if needed.  If any extra coverage is needed Dale is always the first to raise his hand to help, saying each time, “I’m here to help, just let me know how.” Dale has most recently taken the lead with getting our new Ottawa units up to the standards that our yard drivers are used to and getting the common maintenance problems sorted out early. He has been in contact with our Area Maintenance Manager daily and even the equipment manufacturer to ensure that we have proper working, safe units for our yard drivers.  He truly has been a superstar manager since joining us and we look forward to seeing what else he can accomplish!
