Central Region September Driver of the Month Winners

Congratulations to Ken Goins from Home Depot in Van Buren, OH for winning the Regional Driver of the Month for the Central Region for September.  Below is the writeup from the management team in Van Buren on Ken:

Ken is one of the most pleasant drivers we have had the benefit of driving for the Home Depot account in Van Buren. Ken will greet everyone in the office with a big smile and a friendly greeting. He communicates extremely well to avoid service issues and communicates even better when unexpected situations arise that may affect service or safety. He has a total of 5 log points for August, 0 missing EDVIR's, 0 missing logs, and has not had a preventable event since April.
Ken was approached recently and requested to begin his shift on Sunday to help cover Emergency loads for Home Depot. In typical Ken fashion, he said that he would love to help in any way he could. He left his house Sunday morning and got loaded at Glidden paint and ran the load all the way to Monroe, OH. Upon returning to Van Buren for his Monday outbound load, he was approached to help collect cones on the Home Depot parking lot to free up space from the resurfacing project going on. Ken got a chance to meet the Van Buren Transportation Manager, Casey Sullenberger, and help her personally get the property ready for tractor traffic the next morning. It was 9 pm by now, Ken had been on the road over 10 hours, but he still had a great attitude and was commended for his helpfulness by Casey. What a great opportunity to provide some CVD for your customer, and Ken knocked it out of the park twice in one day! We are pleased to announce Ken Goins as Driver of the Month for the Home Depot Van Buren account for the month of September.

Dan is the kind of driver I wish I had 15 of. He is dedicated, hardworking and proactive. He is willing to go anywhere freight takes him and willing to even take a loss to make sure loads are covered and the customer is cared for. In the past months Dan has taken extra loads to California, East Coast and locally for Aurora Parts increasing both our revenue and partnership on-site. Dan has no log letters in the past year, 0 missing edvir's and had a clean lvl2 DOT inspection on 9/15. He is 1 million+ mile safe driver and has his sights on 2 million in the future.

For the Warchol Region, Rob Hines is the winner for September.  Rob has been with JB Hunt for over 4.5 years.  He is currently a Driver Trainer on the Family Dollar Account in Morehead, KY.  Below is a writeup from Rob's Manager, Ben Hurt:

Rob Hines is one of the most tenured drivers on this account, as he has been on this account since startup over five years ago. He is one of our top driver trainers as well. When a driver is passes his training you know he has been
thoroughly trained and well equipped to handle any issue that he might face on this account. He also continues to mentor these new drivers after they complete their training. He is more than willing to help them through issues come up along the way.
Rob is what you think of when you think about what you want in a professional driver.
He has caused no service failures this year. He has excellent customer service with store employees. He leads by example when it comes to safety as well. He is on the forefront of driver safety for this account.
He is in constant communication with management over safety issues, such as the way trailers are loaded and has taken and sent hundreds of pictures of unsafe conditions. Not only does he report safety issues but he has also been very helpful with offering ideas to help find solutions to these issues.
Rob is one of those drivers that actually
takes ownership in this account
and wants everybody on this account to succeed and with that he holds every driver up to the standard that is required for us to be highly successful.

Congralations to Mark Sejersen on winning Driver of the Month for the Hoban Region.  Mark is a Bulk Hauler for our Cargill Fleet in Liverpool, NY.  Mark has been with JB Hunt for just under 5 years.  Prior to coming onto the Cargill Account, Mark worked for the Blue Seal Account in Bainbridge, NY.  Below is the writeup from Mark's manager Corey Palmer:

Mark is a trainer on this account and for good reason. He is very experienced in feed delivery and it is very evident to our customers. Mark is the driver of choice when it comes to making a difficult delivery or a delivery to a new customer. He takes the time to interact with the customer and makes an extra effort to make sure that the bins are properly labeled and legible. His willingness to please our customers has become obvious to the Cargill sales team and it is always a welcomed sight when Mark makes a delivery because they know it will be done the right way the first time. Mark's professionalism extends beyond the customer. Behind the wheel, Mark operates the truck safely and efficiently. He is a leader in mpg and handles the truck like a true professional. He has never had a critical driving event, which is indicative that he is using the Smith System as he should. Additionally, Mark's work ethic is outstanding. He works a majority of the Saturdays when needed and even spent time on another feed account, assisting with a start up in Virginia (Southern States Feeds).

For the Tabor Region, this month's winner is Lou Cannatti.  Lou is a driver on our Intigral Fleet in Austintown, OH.  Lou has been with JB Hunt for 2.5 years and has been a valuable member of the Intigral Team.  Below is the writeup from his manager Rich Schwartz:

SWEET LOU! Well there is much to be said about Lou since joining our team 4/23/12. He entered a situation at the Intigral Austintown plant that was less than favorable and turned it into gold. Intigral was not very pleased with the driver before Lou and had various complaints about him, once that driver left God gave us Lou. He has done a phenomenal job since taking over, the customer hasn’t been happier with his work ethic and overall attitude about being a team player. In my last visit to Austintown they spoke very highly of him they even said “what planet did you get Lou from?” It goes to show the little things count and Lou has done a great job to earn their respect back.

Lou went out to deal with a family matter and needless to say we lost our field general. Lou is a cut above the rest, the drop off from Lou to another great driver was immeasurable. The plant seemed lost without him, and he was missed immensely.

Lou does so much for the customer at Austintown, OH. He loads, unloads, and ships his own truck daily. He is tasked with completing carts, sequencing units, and picking the windows to deliver to the customer. Lou’s importance to the success of JBH at Intigral is very high.

FLEXIBILITY- Lou has done anything and everything to help management since he was hired.

SAFETY- 1 Positive observation since being hired, and Lou communicates and shares his thoughts on safety in our discussions.

LOGS- Lou is in “Lieu” of logs

FUEL- Lou shuts his unit off and doesn’t fill up for weeks at a time.

PEOPLE- Lou has gotten nothing but positive feedback from his peers and the customer. Overall he has done a good job of gaining the customers respect and he is considered a part of their team.

DEPENDABILITY- Lou has not missed 1 day of work since joining our fleet he is prompt and ready for the daily task at hand.

Congratulations SWEET LOU, you are one in a million!
