Bruce Fowler (FOWB7) - Professional Driver - CHEP Columbus

Dustin Hatfield (Area Risk Manager) recently rode with Bruce Fowler.  Bruce is a 20 year vet of the driving profession.

He got his start working for a company that delivered supplies to pizza chains and they were so impressed with him that they eventually offered to pay for him to get his CDL. One of the thing’s Bruce is very proud of is the fact that he’s never had to be truly over-the-road as a driver. He said that he’s had some week long gigs but never had to be out for an extended period of time. His home time is very important to him as he has two small grand children at home and you can tell that he’s very proud of them as he got a big smile on his face whenever he mentioned them.

The CHEP account has worked out well for Bruce. He enjoys being home each night and has found a niche in running an almost static route delivering between Columbus and Dannon (Yogurt) in Minster, OH twice a day.

Rich Schwartz (Area Risk Manager) recently rode with Mark Bennett.

Mark resides with his wife in Lorain, OH.

 He used to work for the JoAnn’s account as well as Home Depot Van Buren before coming to Intigral. At Intigral Mark was a go to guy for any loads in sourced or outsourced.

Mark is a DJ in his spare time as well as in a band where he plays guitar. Mark has a love for Pepsi and an extensive taste in music. Mark is currently approaching his million mile safe driving award and enjoys his new position at Sanson.

Happy 16th Anniversary Lynn Cahill - Professional Driver - Toyota Hebron

On January 27th, Lynn Cahill proudly celebrated his 16th year with JB Hunt and has accomplished many achievements on and off the road.

Lynn has been happily married for 31 years to his wife, Mary.  He served in the Marines for 8 years and during that time he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and did three tours in Vietnam.

Once becoming a professional driver, Lynn was driver trainer for many years for the OTR division before transferring to DCS. Lynn started his DCS career at Quality Cabinet's before transferring to Toyota's new start up account in Hebron, KY seven years ago. Among these accomplishments he has also earned the 1 Million Safe Miles award.  Thank you Lynn for your dedication and service.

Happy Anniversary Garek Dunham

Happy Anniversary to Garek Dunham, as yesterday marked his Anniversary with JB Hunt. As a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University, Garek worked on the Dollar General account in 2012 and 2013. Garek returned to JB Hunt on January 19th of 2015 to help tackle the start up of the MasterBrand Cabinets Account in Ferdinand, IN. We're happy you're back, Thank you for all that you do!

Happy Anniversary Brian Welsh

Wishing a Happy Anniversary to Brian Welsh as today marks his 2 year Anniversary with the company. Brian came to JB Hunt as an Operations Supervisor at the PPG Account in Pittsburgh, PA, with 10 years military experience. In July of 2015 he promoted to the Logistics Coordinator role, planning the Global and the Cleveland Ohio Regional Fleet of nearly 100 trucks. Congrats, Brian!

Robert was born in New York moved to Florida where he meets his wife. Then, they moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family. 

Before driving a truck Rob worked for IBM and takes great pride in the computer he built at home. Working on computers and spending time with his 3 grandchildren takes up his off duty time.

Don has 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son).  He enjoys the outdoors, target shooting, fishing and hunting.

Don has been with us over a year and brings valuable assets to the table.  We recently visited the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia on a route in which he was able to show off his skills. 

Don likes music and movies and was an MP for 20 years in the US Army.

Congratulations to Brian Tabor as he celebrates 10 years with JB Hunt today! Brian started his career in Columbus, OH working on the PPG Account.  From there, Brian assumed the role of the Account Manager at Limited Logistics in Reynoldsburg, OH.  In his current role, Brian is a Region Operations Manager located in Columbus, OH.  Happy Anniversary Brian!!

Happy Anniversary to George Vera as today marks his two year Anniversary with the company! George began his career with J.B. Hunt in ICS as a Carrier Sales Coorinator within the RISE program at our Corporate office in Lowell, AR. In June of 2014 he moved into Dedicated as a Manager Trainee where he soon after took on his current role of Account Manager of Aurora Parts in Lebanon, IN. Congratulations, George!

Happy Anniversary to Adam Martindale who celebrated his 1 year anniversary with JB Hunt on the 5^th of January. Adam came to JB Hunt with about 9 years of prior management experience working a variety of logistics positions including being the onsite manager for Werner working with MasterBrand. Over this past year Adam has been a instrumental part of the start up by fulfilling the duties of the Operations Supervisor. He continues to do an outstanding job supporting the MasterBrand account, thank you for all you do Adam!

Mid Year Business Review at Central Farm & Garden

Yesterday we held our Mid Year Business Review at Central Farm and Garden in Wooster, OH.  The Mid Year Business Review is one of the two formal CVD meetings that are held with our customers on an annual basis.  Overall this customer was very happy with our service and the value we have brought since beginning this partnership.  Some of our takeaways will be working with our Engineering Group to look for ways to further optimize the routing schedule to be efficient.  We will also look to infuse backhaul on a few key lanes in hopes of driving out some empty miles and save our customer money.  The account also highlighted a current 88 day collision free streak and 495 days injury free streak!  Our drivers and management staff have done a fantastic job with this customer with more great service to come!

Ronnie Garrabrant - GARR64 - 1 Million Safe Mile Driver

Ronnie is a professional driver for our Chep Columbus fleet.  Ronnie is known for being one of the most efficient and safety conscious drivers on the fleet.  He works the early AM shift and sets the plate for most of his peers on the fleet daily.  He is our longest tenured driver on the fleet and has been with us for 12 years!  

In his free time, Ronnie is a big sports fan and loves to cheer for his Ohio State Buckeyes. Congratulations Ronnie on this well deserved honor!

Happy Anniversary Naomi Eaton!

Naomi Eaton celebrated her three year anniversary yesterday.  She joined the J.B. Hunt team in January of 2013 as an Operations Supervisor for the Toyota account in Owensboro, KY. After four months, she accepted the role of Logistics Coordinator. In June 2013, Naomi was formally recognized by Toyota as an integral part of the winning JB Hunt DCS Kaizen Challenge team and eventually took over all duties related to this Kaizen. The “Obvious Oversized Oversight” project resulted in lower cost, shorter lead-time, and improved customer service in transporting service frames to Toyota dealerships. In December 2013, Naomi was promoted to the Account Manager role over the Toyota Hebron, KY location. In this role, she acted as a customer liaison between Toyota and the JBI/JBT divisions monitoring over 800 loads monthly in addition to managing the 7 Driver DCS Milk Run Fleet. In May 2015, Toyota added additional 30 trucks to the flatbed fleet. Making the transition from Hebron, KY Naomi was accepted the position as Account Manger for the new fleet. In her time with the company she has done an exceptional job! Happy Anniversary Naomi!

Getting to Know - Michael Mahan - Professional Driver Southern States

Michael Mahan (MAHM0) Professional Driver Southern States

Karl Cuff rode with Michael Mahan on December 30, 2015.  Mike started with the Southern States less than a year ago. Mike previously worked at another logistics company where he was a milk tank driver, so he was quickly able to adapt to the job delivering bulk feed to farms. He quickly became one of the most successful drivers on the account and has not had a preventable incident or accident since his start with JB Hunt. He is also the most requested driver on the account.

Mike enjoys his free time with his wife and two sons. Mike is also the Co-Youth Minister at his church where he and his wife work with the children of the church. He is currently enrolled in online classes in order to become a minister.

Mentor Program - Dublin, OH

Over the last 2 days, our area driver trainers along with operations and safety personnel attended the Mentor Program in Dublin, OH conducted by corporate safety manager Jeff Yeomans.  This program has been initiated to gain a better understanding of training techniques and on-boarding procedures for our Military and Entry level drivers.  The course detailed the importance and specifics of on-boarding including topics such as proper inspections, hours of service compliance, Peoplenet, and company policies to name a few.  The group went to dinner on Wednesday night where the ideas and conversations continued.

Happy Anniversary Scott Dorsey!

Happy Anniversary to Scott Dorsey as yesterday, January 6th marked 1 year with JB Hunt. Scott started his career as an Intern within our Integrated Capacity Solutions division in Indianapolis. Upon graduation from IUPUI Kelley School of Business, he accepted a position within the Dedicated division as a  Manager Trainee. After a few short months he promoted into his current role of Operations Supervisor at the CHEP Pallets Account in Indianapolis. Congrats, Scott!

Congratulations and Happy 8 year Anniversary to Dustin Hatfield! Dustin just completed his 2nd year as an Area Risk Manager in the Central Region after holding various operation roles in the company. He continues to do a great job of supporting his accounts and drivers and we look forward to future successes.

Happy Anniversary to David (DJ) Beyer, as today marks his 1 year Anniversary with J.B. Hunt! DJ began his career at the PPG account in Pittsburgh, PA filling a role for the customer as a Freight Planner. In July of 2015 DJ transferred over to the operations side with the account as an Operations Supervisor, taking over a board of 25 drivers. Congrats, DJ!

Congratulations to Megan Perez for recently passing her six year anniversary with JB Hunt!  Megan is the Region Human Resource Manager for the Central Region and resides in Columbus with husband Marcus.  In her 2 plus years in this role, Megan has played a key role in supporting the region.  We appreciate all that Megan does as she is a key member of the Central Region Team!  Congrats Megan!
